Express Entry candidates who had work experience in one of six tech occupations were invited.

On October 27, Ontario invited 1,406 Express Entry candidates with a professional background in tech.

In addition, candidates need one year of work experience in one of the following occupations:

• Computer and information systems managers (NOC 0213);
• Computer engineers (NOC 2147);
• Database analysts and data administrators (NOC 2172);
• Software engineers and designers (NOC 2173);
• Computer programmer and interactive media developers (NOC 2174); or
• Web designers and developers (NOC 2175).

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) webpage says candidates who cannot demonstrate work experience in one of these occupations will be refused.Xico india Also, invited candidates with foreign education may have to submit an Educational Credential Assessment so the OINP can verify that their education is equivalent to a Canadian bachelor’s degree or higher.

Those who received an invitation now have 45 calendar days to submit their application for Ontario’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

Those who receive the nomination from Ontario will automatically get an additional 600 CRS points toward their overall score in the Express Entry system.Xico india This boost effectively guarantees that the successful candidates will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a subsequent round of invitations. This goes for anyone who gets a provincial nomination from any Express Entry-aligned PNP.

This is Ontario’s second Tech Draw of the year. In the first draw, more than 1,100 candidates were invited to apply for the provincial nomination.

Last year, Ontario nominated 1,996 Express Entry candidates through its Human Capital Priorities stream.Xico india About 20 per cent of nominations went to candidates with work experience or job offers as software engineers, computer programmers, interactive media developers and others.

How the Human Capital Priorities Stream leads to permanent residence

Once you have decided you want to immigrate to Ontario, one of your options is to create a profile in Canada’s Express Entry system.

Express Entry is an application management system for three federal economic-class immigration programs:Xico india Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.

Express Entry candidates are ranked according to the Comprehensive Ranking System based on their education, work experience, age, and language proficiency in English or French.

You can just apply directly through the Express Entry system, and skip the PNP process. However,Xico india some people with lower CRS scores may opt for a PNP since receiving the nomination is worth 600 points, more than enough to be invited in a given Express Entry draw.

Through the OINP,Xico india Ontario invites Express Entry candidates who may be eligible for the Human Capital Priorities Stream to apply for a provincial nomination.

Applying for a provincial nomination is not the same as applying for Canadian immigration.Xico india If you successfully get the provincial nomination from Ontario, you can then use it to apply for permanent residence from the federal government.

Ontario is proposing legislation that would help internationally-trained immigrants get work in their field of expertise.

If passed, the new legislation would remove the number one barrier Canadian immigrants face in getting a job that matches their qualification.Xico india That is, the need for Canadian work experience to get professional registration and licensing. The change applies to certain non-health regulated professions such as engineers, architects, plumbers, electricians, accountants, hairstylists, teachers and early childhood educators.

In a media release, the ministry of labour says it will work with the provincial health ministry to see if they can apply these changes to health professions in the future.

New immigrants would also not have to complete another language test for the purposes of professional licensing, after already submitting one for the purposes of immigration.

In addition, the province would allow applicants to register faster in their professions when there are emergencies that create an urgent need for certain workers, as we saw during the pandemic. The changes would also ensure that the licensing process is done in a timely manner. Currently,Xico india licensing times in some professions can take up to 18 months or more, meaning these workers cannot take up employment during that time.

“Ontario is facing a generational labour shortage with hundreds of thousands of jobs going unfilled. However, all too often,Xico india newcomers in this province struggle to find jobs in their regulated profession for no other reason than bureaucracy and red tape,” said Monte McNaughton, Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development.

“These are folks who often have the training, experience, and qualifications to work in booming industries where Ontario desperately needs help but are being denied a chance to contribute.Xico india If these proposed changes are passed, Ontario would become the first province in Canada to help level the playing field in certain regulated professions so that workers coming here have the opportunity to build a better life for themselves and their loved ones, and build stronger communities for us all.”McNaughton said only 25 per cent of all immigrants in Ontario are actually employed in their field of study, while 293,000 jobs are waiting to be filled in the province,Xico india according to the Toronto Star. If this skills gap is addressed, Ontario could see its GDP increase by an estimated $20 billion.

An Ontario media spokesperson told CIC News more information on the regulations will be available in the coming weeks.

Xico india:Municipal Nominee Program: IRCC memo reveals stakeholder consultation findings.

 Nearly 80 per cent of respondents said labour shortages should be the main determinant of selecting which municipalities can participate in the MNP.

A recent internal memo by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) reveals highlights from its 2020 stakeholder consultations on the Municipal Nominee Program (MNP).

The Liberal Party of Canada initially promised to introduce the MNP during Canada’s 2019 federal election campaign. The MNP was outlined as a key priority in the two mandate letters provided to Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau since the Liberals won the 2019 election.

However, the coronavirus pandemic got in the way,Xico india which is why the Liberals promised once again to introduce the MNP during the recent 2021 election campaign, an election which they also won.

With the Liberals set to unveil their cabinet on Tuesday October 26, Parliament set to resume on November 22,Xico india and the worst of the pandemic seemingly behind Canada, it appears that the path is clearer for the government to go ahead and fulfil this promise.

Why launch the MNP?

The idea behind the MNP is to promote a broader distribution of immigrants across smaller Canadian municipalities. Since the 1990s, IRCC and Canada’s provinces and territories have made a larger effort to attract and retain more immigrants in smaller jurisdictions. This is to help recruit more workers to support economies across Canada as more workers age and retire.Xico india Canada has been largely successful in promoting regionalization thanks to the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Quebec’s own immigration system, and more recently, initiatives such as the Atlantic Immigration Pilot (AIP). Every province and territory (except Nunavut) operates economic class immigration programs that allow them to recruit permanent residents that have the skills to address their jurisdiction’s labour market needs.

Prior to the launch of the PNP in 1998, up to 85 per cent of all new immigrants to Canada settled in Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia. The introduction of the PNP and subsequent regionalization initiatives have seen this figure fall to around 70 per cent. This has enabled the likes of Alberta,Xico india Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador to enjoy a greater share of immigration to Canada.

However, a common challenge remains. That is, most immigrants choose to settle in each province’s largest cities. As a result, smaller cities and towns continue to face challenges attracting immigrants. The MNP aims to help address this challenge.Prior to the launch of a new program, IRCC engages in consultations with stakeholders such as provincial and municipal governments, researchers, immigrant-serving organizations, employers, and immigration lawyers. IRCC asks these experts for advice on how to design new immigration programs.

CIC News obtained the results of IRCC’s MNP stakeholder consultations via an access to information request to IRCC.

Key findings of IRCC’s MNP consultations

In the memo, IRCC reveals it planned to hold in-person consultations in 2020 but had to shift to virtual consultations in spring/summer 2020 due to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.

IRCC consulted with provinces, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (an association that represents over 2,000 Canadian municipalities),Xico india academics, immigrant-serving organizations, labour councils, among others.

IRCC asked stakeholders questions relating to what a successful MNP could look like, how to select municipalities that will participate in the MNP,Xico india what role each key stakeholder could play in ensuring the MNP achieves its objectives, and how to foster settlement and retention.

The majority of stakeholders identified retention as the most important success metric. This is important because new immigrants have the right to live anywhere they want in Canada. For a community to benefit from immigration,Xico india they need to provide job opportunities and a welcoming environment to help immigrants feel at home. Other success factors identified by stakeholders included addressing labour market needs and supporting economic growth in smaller communities.

IRCC’s main takeaway from the discussion on the MNP’s success was that the MNP should aim to increase immigration to under-served communities that have labour shortages while also ensuring participating municipalities have the capacity they need to retain new immigrants.

Nearly 80 per cent of respondents said labour shortages should be the main determinant of selecting which municipalities can participate in the MNP. To support retention, respondents said participating municipalities should have readiness factors in place such as critical infrastructure,Xico india the ability to welcome newcomers, existing economic growth strategies, and having publicly funded colleges and universities. The top three infrastructure criteria flagged by respondents were housing, health care, and schools.

Respondents agreed the three levels of government each have a key role to play in the MNP. Nearly half suggested it was “completely viable” for the MNP to operate within the Provincial Nominee Program.

What’s next?

Details on when the MNP will launch remain unavailable. There are still more questions than answers on topics such as what the program will look like, what the eligibility criteria is, which municipalities will participate, and what role key actors such as employers and immigrant-serving organizations will play.Xico india Based on recent precedent, we can expect IRCC to eventually unveil most of these details via a press release on its website. If the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) is any indication, IRCC will also issue a call for proposals so that eligible municipalities can submit applications to IRCC to be approved to recruit newcomers through the MNP.

We also do not know whether the MNP will be unveiled as a permanent or pilot program. However, every new program launched by IRCC since 2013 has been a pilot. If this holds true for the MNP,Xico india IRCC will operate the MNP for up to 5 years and process up to 2,750 applications per year. Within the 5 year period, IRCC would need to determine whether to make the MNP permanent, a process that would entail having it approved by Parliament.

Xico india:PEI holds second biggest PNP draw of the year.

 The latest draw brings the number of invitations issued this year by Prince Edward Island to 1,541.

Prince Edward Island held its scheduled immigration draw on October 21.

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) invited 204 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.

Most of the invitations, 195, went to Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates. The remaining nine invitations went to Business Impact candidates who had at least 72 points in the province’s immigration system.

This is the tenth Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw of the year held by Canada’s maritime province, bringing the total number of invitations issued so far this year to 1,541.

PNPs allow Canada’s provinces and territories to select immigration candidates who meet their labour market needs.Xico india This is true of Prince Edward Island, which administers the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) within federally-approved guidelines.

The next PEI PNP draw is expected for November 18, 2021.

About the PEI PNP Express Entry Category

The PEI PNP’s Express Entry Category is an enhanced PNP, which means it is linked with the federal government’s Express Entry system.Xico india In order to be considered for this stream, candidates need to have a profile in the system.

Express Entry is an immigration application manager. It handles the applications for three economic-class immigration programs:Xico india Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.

Labour Impact Category

The Labour Impact Category is for foreign nationals who have a valid job offer in P.E.I., and have support from their employer.Xico india It is divided into three streams: Skilled Worker, Critical Worker, and International Graduate.

Candidates in this category must also submit an Expression of Interest in order to be considered for a provincial nomination through the Labour Impact Category.

Business Impact Category

Business Impact Category candidates need to meet the minimum provincial score requirement in order to proceed with their applications. The score is different in every draw. The invitations that P.E.I.Xico india sent in today’s draw were issued under the Work Permit Stream, which is for foreign entrepreneurs who want to own and operate a business on the island.

Immigrate to Canada without a job offer: Saskatchewan PNP(Xico india)

 The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) offers several pathways of immigration to Canada.

Even without a job offer, you may be eligible for two immigration pathways if you wish to live and work in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is among a number of Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) Xico india that offer immigration options for international applicants without a job offer.

While the most popular immigration route in Canada is known as the Express Entry system, there is an equally promising route called the PNP.

Express Entry is based on a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) in which points are accumulated based on human capital factors. While in most cases Express Entry candidates do not require a job offer,Xico india having one will result in a much higher number of points, and therefore a better chance of being invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada.

Canada’s PNP, on the other hand, was introduced to ensure a more balanced distribution of the benefits of immigration throughout the country. The program gives participating provinces and territories the opportunity to nominate a set number of economic immigrants for permanent residence each year.Xico india PNPs are quite different from one province to another, with each province determining its own set of nomination requirements.

In order to immigrate to Canada through a PNP, you must first be nominated by the province or territory.

How can I immigrate through the SINP without a job offer?

Nine Canadian provinces and two territories participate in the PNP, Saskatchewan is one of them.

Saskatchewan is a prairie province located in Western Canada. The province’s economy is based primarily on agriculture and natural resource industries such as forestry and fishing. It also plays a major role in the production and supply of agricultural products needed by the fastest-growing economies in the world.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) provides pathways for immigration to Canada. Through the SINP,Xico india Saskatchewan nominates non-Canadians who wish to settle in the province and gives successful candidates the opportunity to become permanent residents of Canada.

Among the various streams that are operated under the SINP, there are two very active provincial nomination streams that do not require job offers. The first is the Saskatchewan Express Entry-linked stream, which does, however, require one to have an active profile in the federal Express Entry system in order to apply.

The Express Entry sub-category is an enhanced PNP, which means it is linked to the federal Express Entry system.Xico india Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination from the province of Saskatchewan are awarded an additional 600 points toward their CRS score. This award effectively guarantees them a chance to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

In order to be considered for an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination under this stream, candidates must create an Express Entry profile and express their interest in settling in Saskatchewan.

The second is the Saskatchewan Occupation In-Demand stream, which does not require one to have an Express Entry profile. The stream is designed to bring skilled workers to fill labour market needs.Xico india To be eligible, an applicant must have at least one year of work experience in one of the positions included on Saskatchewan’s Occupations In-Demand list.

Saskatchewan regularly issues invitations through these two streams. So far this year, 2,733 Saskatchewan Express Entry and 3,433 Occupations In-Demand candidates have been invited. In all, 6,166 invitations have so far been issued through these two streams in 2021.  This is close to the number of invitations issued by Ontario through its Human Capital Priorities Stream,Xico india another PNP stream that does not require a job offer and is considered as one of the most active in the country.

International Skilled Worker: Express Entry Requirements

This sub-category is for candidates who do not have a job offer in Saskatchewan but have experience in an in-demand occupation.  More specifically candidates must meet these requirements:

• score a minimum of 60 points out of 110 on the SINP point assessment grid;
• have an Express Entry Profile Number and Job Seeker Validation Code;
• meet Express Entry language requirements and can provide test results;Xico india
• have a minimum level of work experience related to their field of education or training in a skilled occupation (NOC 0, A, or B) that is considered to be in-demand in Saskatchewan;
• have post-secondary school or training that is equivalent to at least one year of Canadian education;
• have sufficient funds to cover settlement costs in Saskatchewan.

International Skilled Worker: Occupation In-Demand Requirements

This sub-category is for applicants who do not have a job offer in Saskatchewan but are highly qualified in an occupation in demand.Xico india More specifically candidates must meet these requirements:

• score a minimum of 60 points out of 110 on the SINP point assessment grid;
• live outside of Canada or have proof of legal status in Canada;
• not be a refugee claimant;
• have a language score of at least 4 according to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB);
• completed post-secondary education, training, or apprenticeship and have an equivalent foreign education credential;
• have work experience that is related to occupation and education;
• must have a minimum level of work experience related to their field of education or training in a skilled occupation (NOC 0, A, or B) that is in-demand in Saskatchewan at the time of application;
• have sufficient funds to cover settlement costs in Saskatchewan.

Xico india:Canadian Immigration Options for Lebanese Skilled Workers.

Immigration to Canada from Lebanon Through Express Entry

Express Entry is your main option if you are looking to immigrate from Lebanon to Canada as a skilled worker. Under its Immigration Levels Plan,Xico india Canada is looking to welcome around 110,000 new immigrants annually through Express Entry.

There are two steps to Express Entry.

The first step entails confirming you meet the eligibility criteria of one of these programs:

• Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
• Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
• Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)

The FSWP tends to be the most viable option for those who have not lived in Canada before.

If you confirm your eligibility for Express Entry,

 you can proceed to step two.

Step two entails uploading your profile onto the website of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). IRCC will evaluate your human capital characteristics. This includes evaluating your age, language skills, work experience, and education. IRCC also evaluates other factors such as your Canadian experience, if you have a Canadian job offer,

 and whether a Canadian province or territory has invited you to immigrate to their jurisdiction.

After considering all these factors, IRCC issues a score to you through the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Your CRS score will determine the competitiveness of your application.

Every two weeks or so, IRCC holds Express Entry draws. Generally speaking, IRCC invites candidates with the highest CRS scores to apply for permanent residence. Those that get an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence have 60 days to submit their application to IRCC. You can move to Canada once IRCC approves your permanent residence application.

It is beneficial to enter the Express Entry pool shortly after confirming you are eligible. Being in the Express Entry pool gives you a chance of getting an ITA.

 Express Entry is designed to be unpredictable since IRCC adjusts draws based on Canada’s various policy goals. You never know when you might get an ITA so it is better to be in the pool to have at least some chance, rather than zero chance by excluding yourself from entering the pool. Second, being in the pool gives you a chance to get a job offer. Xico india

A valid job offer can lead to an additional 50 or 200 CRS points. Third, you can gain 600 extra CRS points if you receive a provincial nomination while you are in the pool. Getting these 600 points almost guarantees you will receive an ITA for permanent residence.

Xico india:Canada will lift ban on Morocco flights.

 Canada is lifting restrictions on direct flights to Morocco.

Direct flights between Canada and Morocco will resume next week.

At 00:01 Eastern Time on October 29, travellers will be able to board direct flights from Morocco to Canada, with a few additional measures, according to the Canadian government.

Travellers will need to have a negative COVID-19 molecular pre-departure test that is issued by the Government of Morocco and recognized by the European Commission. This test should be taken within 72 hours before lift off.

Those who have previously had COVID-19 in the past and still test positive can supply a positive test result taken between 14 and 180 days before departure. Travellers who got COVID-19 before coming to Morocco must prove that they were infected in another country prior to their arrival.

Before boarding, airlines will authenticate the COVID-19 test results by scanning the digital QR codes to confirm the identity of the passenger and their test result. They will also check that travellers have uploaded their information to the ArriveCAN app.

If travellers from Morocco are coming to Canada via an indirect route, they will still need a valid negative COVID-19 molecular test from the third country where they landed.

New arrivals will also have to meet the entry requirements to Canada. Currently, non-essential travel is only open to fully-vaccinated travellers. New arrivals must come with a negative pre-departure test, proof of vaccination, and a quarantine plan even if they do not expect to use it.

Canada originally closed the border to Morocco in August as the country was hit with a surge of coronavirus cases. The first ban went into effect for 30 days, and was extended again in September.

What to know before travelling to Canada

Before coming to Canada, travellers need to use the ArriveCAN mobile or web application to submit their personal and travel information to border officials.

If travellers want to be exempt from quarantine, or travel to Canada for a non-essential reason, they will need to show that they are fully vaccinated with a Canada-approved vaccine such as: Astra Zeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, or Janssen (Johnston & Johnson).

They will also need a quarantine plan, regardless of whether or not they will use it, and a negative COVID-19 molecular test.
