On July 28, 2022, the Government of Saskatchewan released a statement that it is seeking greater control over its immigration system. The statement came on the same day Saskatchewan’s immigration minister Jeremy Harrison attended a meeting in New Brunswick with the rest of Canada’s immigration ministers, including his federal counterpart, Sean Fraser.
